What a weekend!

Mama, Daddy, Ash, Brandon, Madison, Big Al, and Levi came to visit this weekend! This was the first time they saw the house and we were so happy to have them stay at the Rogerson Bed and Breakfast. We spent time at the beach, playing with the dogs, and relaxing. This was mama, daddy and al's first trip to FLAMING AMY'S BURRITO BARN! I even took them to see where I work. Unfortunately these are the only pictures I took from the weekend...but you know mom and Big Al, their cameras are full of photos that I'm sure they'll share!

Jinx couldn't wait to get to the beach!

Miss Madison would rather be in the AC.

Like mother- like daughter

Levi enjoyed the beach! He played great in the water!

Party!

Our wonderful friends threw us housewarming party. We were so happy to open our doors and welcome our friends into our new home. Thanks to Lisa and Laura for all of your hardwork, hospitality, and yummy food! Thanks to all of our friends for your generosity!

PANIC!!!

We thought we were ahead of the game. Panic set in when we had to move completely out of the apt and prepare for a housewarming party our friends from church were throwing all in the same week. This is what the house looked like the Saturday before the party.

12 hours later....this is what the house looked like:

Mama Gantt's Birthday

The weekend of September 5th I (Amber) took a break from painting to visit Forest City for Mama's birthday. It was good to spend time with them. We visited one of our favorite local restaurants (Hickory Log), played with Levi and Madison, and gave ma a new teal Ipod! Big Al even made cupcakes!

While I was away Lance's parents came to Wilmington. They spent the weekend tearing down trees, pulling up shrubs, and planting beautiful new plants. Thanks for all of your hardwork! Here is the before and after.

Making Progress!

We have made a lot of progress over the past week. Our friend Lynette came over and helped knock out the trim in the master bathroom! She was so fun and so helpful! Thanks Lynette!

Ashley came to visit this weekend. She was a tremendous help! She helped us distress the furniture in our bedroom and clean and set up the bathroom. She also helped finish the trim in the sewing room. We decided we do not like trim work! Ash was my shopping buddy and the master organizer especially for the kitchen! Her goal for the weekend was to help me get our kitchen "usable" before she left and we did just that...even though we stayed up until 3 am Saturday night. The cabinets are clean, lined, and hold our dishes!

Lance is a master caulker, mower, and painter!!!

We got FORKED!

Sometime late Sunday night some of our sneaky youth thought it would be a good idea to fork our yard. I am sure our neighbors were happy to see our yard decorated with over 700 forks and spoons! Don't worry- we will save these utensils for a youth event.

Lance and I finished the master bedroom. Yay! one room down...the rest of the house to go! We had an enjoyable night of painting trim. Neither one of us is very precise but we had fun and I think we make a great team. Jinx watched and whined the entire time. I think she wanted to help.

Whirlwind and Great Friends!"

Whew...What a weekend! We closed on the house on Thursday but didn't actually get our keys until 4:30 Friday afternoon. Friday night Lance and some friends began moving furniture and began painting our bedroom (Thanks Donald, Taylor, Jared, Justin, Mr. Moses and Colliers!).

Saturday Matthew mowed the backyard. Laura helped me clean, remove, and prime the kitchen cabinets. Kenny and Libby painted the master bath while Brandon and Zach helped me prime the cabinets. Kenny and the guys took care of the front yard before they left.

Sunday our friends the Colliers and The Johnsons returned to the painting extravaganza. The master bath, bedroom, and craft room were painted, the kitchen and den now have splashes of color. Richard and Kenny fixed our rickety dryer and made many other repairs.

Thank you to everyone who helped this weekend! We are so blessed to be surrounded by talented, generous, loving people! We love you all!
